Meatbased Bakery Products

Ingredients: 

  • 500g bread flour 
  • 10g salt 
  • 10g sugar
  • 10g instant yeast 
  • 300ml warm water 
  • 100g cooked and chopped meat (such as beef, chicken, or pork) 
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh herbs (such as thyme or rosemary) 
  • 1 egg, beaten 
  • 50g grated cheese (optional)

 

Instructions: 

  • Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F). 
  • Combine the bread flour, salt, sugar, and instant yeast in a large mixing bowl. 
  • Add the warm water and mix until a dough forms. 
  • Knead the dough for about 10 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic. 
  • Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour. 
  • Once the dough has risen, punch it down and knead in the cooked and chopped meat and fresh herbs. 
  • Shape the dough into the desired shape (such as a loaf, bun, or roll) and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. 
  • Brush the top of the dough with beaten egg and sprinkle with grated cheese (if using). 
  • Bake the meat-based bakery product in the oven for 30-35 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through.
