Job Description:
- Develop new food and beverages, supplements and compounds, designing a process of production for these foods, packaging materials
- determining shelf life and microbiological and chemical testing of the new products / formulations.
- Growing microbes’ cultures required for the product development and shelf-life study
- Maintain knowledge of various research methods and perform all manual operations on various supplies.
- Develop and maintain validation in all protocols for various environmental controls.
- Perform laboratory analysis on all materials after appropriate sterilization.
- Perform tests on component samples, identify any contamination, conduct an analysis and initiate corrective measures.
- Study various cultures of microorganisms in isolation according to standard inhibition and ensure control over moisture and temperature.
- Monitor all physiological and morphological characteristics and identify microorganisms.
- Perform tests on all incoming ingredients/raw materials and document all records.
- Develop and prepare research papers and documents for all protocols.
- Perform audits on various environmental programs and perform reviews.
- Develop various testing processes for all raw materials and equipment and monitor all finished products.
- Investigate all issues and prevent any GMP problems on samples.
- Maintain accurate records and perform tests on all activities conducted in the laboratory.
- Develop and document various microbiology laboratory processes and prepare final reports.
- Maintain purchase orders for all laboratory processes and monitor inventory.
- Coordinate with technicians, scientists and experts to complete work efficiently and within a time frame.
- Collaborate with key internal and external stakeholders to deliver projects according to established timelines and budgets.
- Communicating project updates and information to leadership and contributing to building flavour knowledge and capability for the R&D organization.

- Ensure that analysis results are provided in the best way possible, and possible recommended actions are derived and deal independently with complex issues.
- Implement guidelines and structures for documenting and managing the results of analyses in SAP.
- Implement in-house and statutory specifications and guidelines on hygiene, HACCP, food safety, occupational safety and environmental protection, ensuring that these are implemented in subordinate organizational units.
Required Qualification: M.Sc. in microbiology or biochemistry or related (essential) or related field is required.

Job Purpose:
As a Subject Matter Expert, your primary role will be controlling the quality of food products; the development and delivery of innovative and exciting food & beverage, nutraceuticals, supplements and herbal products for today’s modern consumers. You will play an important role in the product lifecycle, from concept to market launch, and finally to post-launch support. You will be working closely with food technologists and chemists to understand the microbiological robustness of food and beverage product formulation
Work Schedule:
Monday – Saturday (except second Saturday)
Skills Required:
- Ability to plan and execute experimental protocols.
- Excellent knowledge of electron microscopes, electronic equipment, chemical samples, stains and weighing equipment.
- Highly skilled in microbiology techniques (e.g. FDA-BAM, APHA, BIS, ASTM, ELISA) methodology, equipment and supplies.
- In-depth knowledge of laboratory tests used in microbiology work.
- Proficient in methods and practices of microbiological analysis.
- Great ability to prepare research papers and technical reports.
- Analytical thinker with strong conceptual and research skills.
- Strong leader who displays accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong IT and math skills.
