FRL Announces Collaboration with Site Management Organization to Strengthen Clinical Trial Capabilities

Chennai, Latest News . Nov 21, 2024

Food Research Lab (FRL), a leading Contract R&D, Pilot Manufacturing Outsourcing, and Consulting Services provider, is proud to announce a strategic collaboration with a Site Management Organization (SMO) network spanning across India. This partnership enhances FRL's ability to conduct clinical trials across a wide spectrum of patient specialties while ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards and ethical guidelines.

This collaboration enables FRL to expand its clinical trial services for nutraceuticals, functional foods, and cosmeceuticals, catering to disease-specific applications in areas such as oncology, diabetology, cardiology, neurology, and more. By partnering with the SMO, FRL gains access to a diverse patient pool and site infrastructure, allowing for comprehensive, high-quality clinical research under globally recognized protocols.

Regulatory and Ethical Highlights:

Maturation and Ripeness

The stage of ripeness or maturity of a food can also significantly influence its GI. As fruits ripen, their starch content is converted into sugars, which lowers their GI. For example, a green, unripe banana has a higher GI than a fully ripened banana (Englyst & Cummings, 1986). Similarly, research suggests that “new potatoes” (younger, freshly harvested potatoes) tend to have a lower GI compared to older, matured potatoes (Soh and Brand-Miller, 1999).

Enhanced Capabilities for Sponsors and Clients

This collaboration positions FRL as a one-stop solution for clinical trials, offering services from protocol design and patient recruitment to trial execution, data analysis, and publication support. Sponsors and clients benefit from:

“Our collaboration with a leading Site Management Organization underscores FRL’s commitment to advancing clinical research in nutraceuticals and related domains,” said Dr Radhika Ganesan, CEO & R&D Director, FRL. “By combining our expertise in R&D and pilot manufacturing with the SMO’s capabilities, we can deliver world-class clinical trial services that meet the highest standards of ethics, compliance, and quality.”, said Dr Radhika.
