What did I learn?
Chewing Gum consists of gum base, natural sweeteners, emulsifier and natural flavours. There is a rising demand for natural chewing gum, and there were various innovations in formulation and processing of these products. The things to consider during the formulation of natural chewing gum are getting the proper texture and balancing taste of the natural gum base. Formulating the chewing gum according to the texture, taste and suitable shelf life was the most challenging part. Once all ingredients were collected, the chewing gum was formulated. Then it’s stored at ambient temperature for shelf-life analysis.

Outcome: A ready to eat chewing gum using natural ingredients was formulated, which has excellent sensory products

What went well? The product turned out well since it was developed after several trials. We would like to conduct further trials to improve the product’s shelf life.
What Could I have done better? A better formulation with an improved shelf life could have been formulated.
